VMI group was established in 1981 by Mr. Kanhaiyalal Baidya under the guidance of visionary founder Late Nathmal Baidya who saw and evinced the prospect of Copper manufacturing in Nepal which now has come to shape so many lives in so many ways. Today, with the found companies, five manufacturing units, an extensive dealer network and, a trusted vendor base that expands every day, the company stands at the forefront of non-ferrous product market in Nepal. The four-decade journey is segmented by consistent growth and is studded with milestones of notable achievements. We are delighted to share with you our valued moments from the chronicle:

Incorporation of Vinod Metal Industries based in the Industrial Estate Nepalgunj to manufacture copper circles/sheets. The first rolling mill was brought in from Mirjapur and we became self sufficient in our requirement of Copper & Brass Circles/Sheets.

1985

Started Production of Brass Casting Utensils.

1986

Started manufacturing of Bronze Utensils of traditional value in Nepal. The product is well received in the market and goes on to establish us as a pioneer in the industry.

1987

Incorporation of Vijay Metal Industries based inside Industrial Estate Nepalgunj to manufacture Aluminium Circles/Sheets. With the introduction of this product range, we are in route to establish ourselves as the largest manufacturer and supplier of Non-Ferrous Utensils in Nepal.

1993

Vijay Metals started manufacturing Aluminium Utensils to supply in the Nepali market; a stepping stone in making Nepal self-sufficient in Aluminium Utensils which relied on India for its supply.

1995

Construction of our new factory in Parvatipur, Shamsherganj with a total area of 2,75,000 sq. ft and covering an area of about 80,000 sq. ft. proceeds.

2009

The first batch of Shalimar branded Pressure Cookers enter Nepali Market from our factory. The product is well received and we integrate the houseware and home appliances segment here. Also, our new manufacturing facility starts the production of various sizes of Aluminium Utensils especially the sizes 36 - 60” reducing our dependence on India for these products.

2010

We receive the prestigious NS certification for our Aluminium Pressure Cookers for our brands Shalimar & Presto. Also, we improve our operation and acquired the ISO 9001:2000 certification.

2012

Supply of Stainless Steel Pressure cookers in the market starts.

2016

Supply of household LPG Stoves and manufacturing of Hard Anodized Pressure Cooker starts. Also introduction of 16-24 Ltr of ALuminium Pressure Cookers starts.

2018

Formation of our first company - Everest Bartan Udyog. Handcrafted copper utensils were made by employing traditional means and methods(hammering). In the beginning, copper sheets/circles were either imported from Japan or from mills based in Kathmandu Valley.
